1. The Challenge
A telecom tower located in an area with frequent load-shedding faced serious power reliability issues, particularly during the summer months. Strict availability requirements made downtime unacceptable, but traditional batteries degraded quickly due to constant cycling. Diesel generators, while providing backup power, created noise, pollution, and high operational costs - exacerbated by fuel theft, which added up to 20% to expenses.

Eliminate reliance on diesel generators, reduce environmental impact, and enhance the economic viability of high-availability power for critical telecom infrastructure.
3. The Solution
A cutting-edge, self-refueling hydrogen energy system was integrated into the site, replacing the diesel generator entirely. This autonomous system not only ensured continuous power to meet stringent availability standards but also optimised battery performance by enabling a smarter charging strategy - significantly extending battery lifespan and reducing operational costs.
